As a 501(c)4 non-profit organization, Move Redmond advocates for safer streets, better transit, and thriving communities. For the first time ever, we’re endorsing a political candidate for office: Eastside transit champion Claudia Balducci for King County Executive.
Move Redmond Endorses Claudia Balducci for King County Executive
Claudia Balducci, former Bellevue Mayor and current King County Councilmember, has been a longtime champion for public transit, walking, and biking on the Eastside. Her leadership reflects a deep understanding of how housing, land use, and transportation intersect. She has a proven track record on transportation issues and a clear vision for tackling King County’s biggest challenges.
Why Move Redmond Endorses Claudia Balducci:
- She was an early supporter of Eastside light rail, and was instrumental in making the project a reality.
- When delays were announced on the I-90 bridge, it was her leadership that helped launch the Eastside Starter Line in 2024. Without this early opening, the Downtown Redmond Link extension would not have opened earlier this year.
- Balducci understands the importance of access to transit, and is a vocal supporter of pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure projects.
- She implemented a Safe Systems approach to traffic safety that is integrated through all King County Departments.
- She has been a champion of the Week Without Driving in King County.
- She is a longtime advocate for Eastrail and will ensure the completion of the trail.
- She is committed to building more affordable housing options with excellent access to transit.
- She is committed to completing Metro Connects– King County’s long-term transit plan, and ensuring more King County residents have access to transit
- She supports improving ADA accessibility and addressing deferred maintenance on our roads and bridges.

We need an executive who will ensure that our transportation system is reliable, sustainable and safe. With her track record of success on transportation issues, we encourage you to vote for Claudia Balducci for King County Executive. You can read more about her transportation platform, as well as her other policy positions on her website here.
Vote Yes on King County Proposition 1: Parks, Recreation, Trails, and Open Space Levy
King County Proposition 1 on the August 5th ballot renews funding for over 250
parks, playfields, swimming pools, and hands-on learning destinations—in every city and across rural King County.
Move Redmond is particularly excited to see the levy fund the completion of several regional trails, including trail improvements along the Sammamish River Trail near Sixty Acres Park and along Eastrail. Trails are an essential part of our transportation network in Redmond, and every connection expands the utility of the whole system.

As our communities grow, we must preserve and protect our remaining forests, farmlands, open spaces, and waterways. This Levy funds the preservation of these landscapes, and provides a model for regional climate action.
Move Redmond proudly endorses this important measure. We hope we can count on your support! Please vote YES on KC Proposition 1, and be sure to return your ballot by Tuesday, August 5th!
