Week Without Driving

Week Without Driving is a weeklong challenge created so that those who are able to drive can learn firsthand about the barriers and challenges non-drivers face every day- and work together to create more accessible communities for all. This year, Week Without Driving will take place from Monday, October 1 to Sunday, October 8, 2026

How does it work?

Every trip counts! From October 1st through October 8th, you can get around however you want, but the challenge is to NOT drive yourself anywhere! This applies to all your trips (work, school. errands, etc). Be mindful of how your trips vary. Are you carpooling with someone or paying for an uber/taxi? If you were a non driver, how would the cost of an uber impact your finances or how often would be asking for a ride from a friend or family member to get to your destination?

Its okay to drive, but its important to reflect on your choices and how different it would look for someone who didn’t have the choice of driving.

How can I get involved?

Marymoor Walk & Talk

Get involved during Week Without Driving by joining Move Redmond’s Marymoor Walk & Talk. Marymoor Village is a rapidly changing neighborhood with important regional destinations, like MAPS and Marymoor park. Join Move Redmond on a community walk with community members, elected leaders, city staff, and agency partners and discuss issues of pedestrian safety and wayfinding around Marymoor Village.

Along this walk, we will highlight opportunities for quick build improvements to improve safety. This walk is also timed to see the influx of people attending Friday prayers at the Mosque.
